Uncle Joe!

We had such a great weekend last weekend. Uncle Joe came to visit us, meet the girls, and go to the Bronocs game with Bobby. We don't get to see him enough and it was so great to laugh and enjoy him. Like all of Bobby's siblings, we wish that we lived closer to Joe and could see him more often.

He brought some UM gear for everyone. Jake got a jersey and the girls got (matching, of course!) one piece sleepers. So cute. It has been a year and a half since Jake last saw Uncle Joe but we always show him pictures and as soon as he saw Uncle Joe he smiled and hugged him. He totally remembers Uncle Beard's face! :)

Joe is such a great uncle.  He is so playful and sweet. He is such a natural with our kids and it is the best thing to watch how he is around his nephew and nieces. He played with, held babies, and Ladd everyone laugh and giggle constatnly. I love that he was able to come and see everyone. It meant so much to us that he would come so far for this weekend. He is super uncle and I am already looking forward to the next time that we see him-which of course won't be soon enough!

The babies were great this weekend. Jake was, well, Jake. He is a busy person who required a lot of extra attention and patience this weekend. I am so glad that we have happy and usually pretty easy kids. Because we have figured out a schedule with the kids, they are pretty easy. Bedtime is a breeze and even the witching hour(s) between 5-7 are so much easier. I have really learned to listen to our kids and their needs. When they act a little tired, they go to bed. Even if that means it is 6:30. The nights have mostly been easier too. They usually get up once right now and oddly enough, Brooklynn doesn't like to wake up in the middle of the night to eat. We end up waking her up and forcing her to eat. Whatever we are doing has made all the difference. We "dream feed" at 9:30pm (feed them in their beds while they are asleep) then feed them in their beds when they wake up once during the night. The only downfall is that they get up SUPER early but I'd rather have some time in the evenings than to sleep late. I can't get too picky when things are going so well!

It was a great weekend. We all miss him so much and can't wait to do it again soon! Thanks for everything, Uncle Joe. You're a fantastic uncle and brother and we had the best weekend!
