Christmas and more!

Happy New Year!

What a fast couple of week it has already been! Christmas was a huge success! Jake loves his Elmo Santa got him-although I think I enjoy it more at this point. :) We spent a fun and humorous evening on x-mas eve with my parents and brother. Christmas was fun and relaxing and J needed a nap in between presents. It was all a little over whelming for him! We have such generous family and everyone was so good to J! Thank you so much to all of our friends and family. You all made our holiday with little man so special and wonderful. We love all of you.

We left for Miami the day after Christmas. Little man wasn't feeling great and was a difficult kid on the plane! I understand how people feel when they have a baby who is less than pleased with flying. I have so much respect for them because it was S-T-R-E-S-S-F-U-L!

Unfortunately, J didn't feel better when we got to the warm weather but worse. We ended up taking him to the ER because of his quick breathing and high fever. After 6 hours, two attempts at an IV, a chest x-ray, and multiple breathing treatments they wanted to keep him overnight to observe. I have to say that Children's hospital in Denver is the most clean, comfortable, and wonderful hospital and now I am spoiled for all other hospitals (ahem...Children's in Miami!)! The doctors were great and I felt like they were doing the best for him. They found a little beginning pneumonia in his lungs but couldn't really explain his high fever. They sent him home the nest day (YAY!! We could get on with our vacation!) on tamiflu just in case it was H1N1 and amoxicillin for the pneumonia. He had a huge rash a day later so his pediatrician concluded it was probably roseola. We will be back at the dr. tomorrow because more than a week later he has a different even worse rash. Poor kid! He is happy as a clam though.

We spent the week at the beach and the pool and having a great time with aunts, uncles, grand and great-grand parents. It was so great to have a break and be able to go out and have fun while Nana and Poppy got their Jake-fix too! It was wonderful to be able to share him with everyone who hasn't seen him in a while. It was great confirmation for us that he is making SO many strides. J loved everyone and certainly loved being the center of everyone's attention. Getting back into the swing of things is so hard after having such a great vacation with family. We miss everyone and thank you so much for everything.
