MRI update

Well, it didn't take long to get the initial results of lil' man's MRI. His pediatrician called me on TUESDAY night (the same day as his MRI) and said that overall things look somewhat normal. He said that compared to his first MRI one year ago, this one looks much better. Things have improved a lot. Of course he is not a neurologist so he is having me go to Children's to meet with a neuro doctor on January 8th. He pulled some strings to get us in right away!

The myelination on his neurons we very low during his last MRI but they look much better and are close to normal. He still has some extra fluid but again, that is much better and closer to normal as well. The fold in his brain also look closer to an average baby at his age. Because the results were very technical that is all his ped. could tell me. He didn't see anything glaring or concerning from the report. I expected things to be better for this MRI, and they are-but now what? He has been showing a TON of improvements with us. He is signing "more", almost waving, and just very aware of what is going on around him. Both of us have to be very careful of what we say around him now that we know he is understanding somethings! Ha ha.

I finally wrapped his Christmas presents that we got him because I was having the hardest time not showing them to him....somethings never change....I cannot keep a secret! We are both so excited to play with his toys with him because he enjoys toys so much more now. So we are looking forward to celebrating our Christmas traditions with him! What a difference a year makes!
