It's always something!

Saturday my big guy was showing off his skills with sliding down the stairs on his bottom-something I think he must have learned at Kristie's house. :) He was laughing so much so I pulled him down the last stair and I thought he stubbed his toe. I feel bad now because obviously it is something more-and I sort of brushed it off. He won't put any weight on his foot. So we are off to the doctor at 3:30 today to see what is going on....oh bother.

Hi Libby,
Yesterday when I was working with Jake and I noticed he was avoiding standing on his left leg more than usual. Ordinarily, Jake doesn't care for standing for very long and tries to sit down after awhile. But yesterday seemed like he was avoiding even putting his leg down for brief periods. He was scooting around great in the classroom, so nothing else seems wrong until we tried to get him to stand. We tried a few positions with his leg to see if we could find anything wrong. The only time we got a negative reaction from Jake was when we did some ranging of his ankle. 

Today his teachers were telling me he is still avoiding setting that leg down, but when I looked at him he was more tolerant and stood for a minute. He did still lean towards his right leg, but he usually shifts to his right. His teachers also were concerned that he seemed to be turning his left leg out more than usual. 

We just wanted to let you know, because yesterday he seemed to be avoiding any weight bearing on his left and today seemed more rotated. 

I was wondering if you had seen anything different with that leg and with standing in general?
And if you thought we needed to be concerned? or if he was just avoiding the standing in general and we should keep trying to get him up?
