Progess...nothing beats it!

Bobby and I were just hanging out with the man a couple of nights ago and thinking about how much he has grown in the last couple of months. We were talking about how when he hugs you-he pats your back when you pat his back, he is saying "Ooo ah?" which sounds soooo close to the sounds of "What's that?" (so we are going with it!) He isn't crying when I drop him off in the morning but he will wave to me or blow me a kiss goodbye and he is starting to use a spoon on his own! His brilliant play therapist was helping me work on using a spoon last weekend and although it was messy-he gets it. She is having him use a pretzel rod or a bread stick to dip into yogurt or other dips and bring it to his mouth. Last night he literally had yogurt ALL over his face. I think he thought it was funny that we were laughing so he was fueled to keep being messy.

He is moving all over the place. He is scooting on his bottom-which is much easier on the tile than the carpet. He is obsessed with the dog bowl so it a hot second there he is-dipping his fingers in Bailey's water. Gross. We can no longer have a dinner in peace if he eats before us. He is everywhere! We have to take a bite and take turns bringing him back to the same spot where all the bad things are out of reach. We have had to baby proof the whole house. The last couple of weeks we have added locks and outlet covers all over our house. Good times! Another favorite thing? My make-up brushes. You'd think I would learn when I put on makeup in the morning and the brushes are wet from being in his mouth-to put them up high somewhere for the next morning. (I can't get ready without my best friend being close to me-he is mommy's shadow so much right now.) Somehow other things always distract me from doing that (i.e. JAKE!!!). So we just talked last night about how LONG we wanted to have this happen-and now that he is moving around everywhere we are so thankful for this wonderful experience (even if we are gritting our teeth sometimes between bites of dinner)! What a good few months it has been!
